FAQs

What are Proxies?

+

Proxies are layered blends of juices, teas, spices, bitters, and more with all the complexity of great wine, and none of the alcohol.

Proxies don’t necessarily taste exactly like any specific wine, but are designed to look, feel, and drink like wine. They have acidity, texture, tannin, and spice and are crafted to pair with food and be enjoyed in wine glasses. Wine, but not.

Learn More.

Are Proxies just wine with the alcohol removed?

+

No, Proxies are thoughtfully crafted beverages designed from the ground up to pair beautifully with food. They're not simply de-alcoholized wine, but rather a new category of non-alcoholic drinks made with high-quality ingredients to deliver complex flavors and textures.

What makes Proxies premium and expensive?

+

Proxies use premium ingredients like rare teas, fruit extracts, and botanicals sourced from around the world. The production process involves small-batch crafting, expert blending, and extensive testing to achieve the perfect balance of flavors, justifying their premium price point.

Are Proxies safe to drink during pregnancy?

+

We work hard to ensure that Proxies are free of harmful bacteria and safe for everyone to consume.

While Proxies are non-alcoholic beverages, they may contain trace amounts of alcohol, just like kombucha, or even foods containing vanilla extract. Proxies always fall below 0.5% alcohol by volume (the threshold to be classified as non-alcoholic according to the FDA and other regulatory agencies).

We are mindful that people make different choices when it comes to pregnancy, so if you’re concerned please consult your healthcare provider for more guidance.

How should I store my Proxies?

+

Proxies are best stored in a cool dark place like you would with wine. After opening, pop the cork back in and enjoy within one week.

    Fantastic product except the red

Loved the whites and sparklings, they were fun and lively and satisfied that social urge to imbibe. Sorry, Proxies, the red tastes like cherry cough medicine. I wanted to find a red wine substitute, but this is not it. I have ordered another batch of whites and sparkling and eagerly await them. The ratings below are for all but the red.

    Proxies never disappoints

I've been 3 years without alcohol but sometimes you get the "itch" especially family dinners or parties. Proxies scratch that itch. The don't taste like wine, which is the point. They are complex, refreshing and complement food nicely. The canned bubblies also make them handy at parties when you feel like "fitting in" without a lot of questions about sobriety. Looking forward to trying more new things from Proxies.

    Dry January

In Preparation for Dry January, I decided to order the Proxie Starter Set. Due some terrible winter weather, the order arrived damaged. Proxie provided great customer service to make sure I have a good quality product. I am working my way through the tasting, and and find them an interesting alternative.

    Founders Set

Enjoyed all but found the white bubbly to be pretty flat. My personal favorites were crisp white and the Bellini!!

An Original Approach Better that is better than Dealcoholized wines

My experience has been that Dealcoholized wines are a poor substitute. Proxies take a different approach using combinations of ingredients that create beverages that are unique and better in my opinion.
